As a customer, physician, and a human being, I never had customer service, with employees who made me feel so small and insignificant by ignoring me, and acted quite rudely in an attempt to explain UPS drop off rules, which is not universal to me. I am not sure if it was the lack of training, the employees' personality, or just the overwhelming busy situation? Nevertheless, there were only 2 other customers there besides me when I walked in, and they were together,
Wouldn't go there if I didn't have to. The staff always has a way of making you feel like they are doing you a favor. The female clerk especially has an abrupt and condescending attitude. Don't expect first class customer service.
I asked for clarification as I just stood there, ignored. The woman said, "I'm on the other line ma'am. You have to come back in 2 days." I was confused and said "I need to come back in 2 days to drop off my package?" I need it in Los Angeles tomorrow by 10:30am. Then she mentioned "you need to come back in 2 days to pick it up or we'll throw it away!" It was voiced out in a very frustrated and unprofessional manner. Then she looked back at me and said, "the paper... not your package." I was so lost at her poor explanation, lack of commitment as she never finished the phone transaction prior to assisting me. I'm sure the customer on the phone found this also as very awkward, confusing, and frustrating, as these were my emotions at that moment.
I have been a customer for 18 years. Great service from smart people.
I was initially helped by a wonderful young man who scanned my drop off package and gave me the receipt. When I asked for a signature for my insurance confirmation (for goods valued over a certain amount- with mine insured at $9,780), he simply gave me a confused answer and said, "We don't do that" and referred me to a more senior person. She was on the phone and decided to assist me while she was still on a call. She showed me the signature page, and pointed on the piece of paper, "See here... We do not do that. We are not UPS employees. You can leave it here and come back in 2 days." It was in a very condescending (pointing) manner, without explaining what other location I can drop it off that is UPS staffed (who may be able to sign it) or why I need to return in 2 days. During this time, the young man who initially assisted me left, as his senior co- employee was supposed to help? I continued to be ignored. There was no prompt such as, "hold on ma'am," etc to queue me what to do next. I was just standing there waiting aimlessly without a customer representative.
Due to this event, I intend to refrain from doing further business with this location, unless in desperation or with pre-printed drop off items (without insurance) due to its convenient location to our residence. Additionally, when asked by local neighbors, co-workers, and friends, I will be honest and offer my personal experience with the McMurray UPS store location. For future complex transactions, I will either go to a UPS staffed location at Washington or FedEx at South Hills.
Well, package didnt come. It was delivered at 4:34 it says, but it was 4:30 when i checked the time. If they time traveled, that wouldve been prettt cool. I called and said that the wait time is 45 min to an hour. No wonder this place has bad reviews I never knew a post office job was that "stressful" for a person XD. I hope they go out of business.
I didn't say anything else since I was afraid my expensive package will be in jeopardy. I left the store feeling helpless and defeated. I want to justify this event and hope no further customers will be treated like this again. We all have fast paced lives and I am not sure how many other customers served at this location out there took time out of their busy schedules to reach out about similar events or possibly not since this is a time consuming effort to file a complaint. But I am simply noting this, so it is not overlooked and in order for efforts to be made to improve overall treatment of human beings, or just plain and simple to learn how to provide a great customer service and a smile.
The owner and employees of this UPS store were very helpful and friendly. Whether over the phone or in person, I found them to be wonderful to work with and very knowledgeable about packaging problems.
Very Poor Customer Service. I would rate it a "0 star" if that option was provided.
